Expressing American Creed
There are many ways that we can express our American Creed even by starting of with small things. Standing up for equality, helping others in our communities, and using our voices to support positive change. American Creed is built on values like freedom, opportunity, and responsibility. I believe it's important to not only talk about those ideals, but to also live them out.
For example with the resources like NHS and Key Club there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer to help those who are in need. Whether is tutoring other students, getting involved in Feeding Souls, or helping with community events. These actions show a commitment to the idea that everyone deserves a fair chance at a better future. I can also express my beliefs by treating others with respect, regardless of their background or beliefs, and by encouraging open conversations.
Another powerful way to show my American Creed is by staying informed and participating like voting when I'm old enough, attending community meetings/events, or even just helping my peers understand important issues. If there is one thing that taking government as a class has taught me it's that being involved is important even if that means that your are just staying informed on current events. These actions can show that I care about my future, my communities future, and the direction it's heading.
Living our American Creed means being active, compassionate, and committed to making a difference. It means taking what I believe in- freedom, equality, and opportunity- and turning those beliefs into real actions that help others and strengthens our democracy.
