American Creed

A poem about what the American Creed is.

By Jordyn from Gerstell Academy in Maryland

American Creed

The American dream

Is not as simple as it may seem,

It does not come free

And people may not always agree,

But that’s the glory of America,

People are allowed to have different opinions,

We are not the government’s minions,

But without having respect,

This nation will become wrecked.

As Americans we are given many rights

One of which is to be able to fight, for our beliefs,

That is such an amazing thing,

To be free to speak your mind on anything.

Hatred is tearing us apart,

But we are all American at heart.
