My piece is simply about how my relatives of the past struggled in their home land and moved to America despite all the difficulties and dangers they faced. They saw America as a land of opportunity and freedom and I wrote this piece to honor them and spread their story.

American Creed is not just found in things that are "American", but everything in the U.S. has a connection to American Creed.

American Creed is where people get to be who they want to be. And it's mostly about freedom and what people get to do with their freedom.

To me, being an American is my sense of community, my opportunities, and my individualism. Being an American is to overcome. More importantly to overcome as one, united nation.

This poem is about several topics that have been more relevant within the recent years or has been a topic within U.S. history. Within all of these parts, I do give out my personal opinion about these topics. I will also add some of these topics are controversial.

Through my parents' naturalization ceremony to become U.S. citizens, I was able to learn a lot about what it means to be an American citizen and what must be done to protect and uphold such a right.
