My American Creed

I describe my American Creed through a parody of Party in the U.S.A

By Iain from Bay High School in Ohio

American creed- (parody to Party in the U.S.A)

Hopped off the Mayflower in Jamestown

The founding fathers have arrived

Welcome to the land of opportunity (woah)

Everybody fits in

Independence, we finally achieved

No we expand and continue to dream

This is all so crazy

At last we are free from Britain

My American creed is about different things

One of which is opportunity

Equal opportunity for everyone

It’s my American creed

It’s my American creed

It’s my American creed

So I put my hands up

The police have come, they read me my rights

I’m noddin my head like yeah

My rights are guaranteed

Got my hands up, I’m plannen my case

I know I’m gonna be okay

Innocent, until proven guilty

Innocent, until proven guilty

We all elect our president

Everyone’s voice is heard

Like, our President displays leadership

They’ve gotta to get the job

So hard with women it voting

It’s definitely not a great policy

So there were lots of protests

Freedom to speak without an arrest

My American creed is about different things

One of which is education

Public Education for everyone

That’s my American creed

That’s my American creed

That’s my American creed

So I put my hands up

The police have come, they read me my rights

I’m noddin my head like yeah

My rights are guaranteed

Got my hands up, I’m plannen my case

I know I’m gonna be okay

Innocent, until proven guilty

Innocent, until proven guilty

Feel like expressing all my rights (all my rights)

Might be protesting things tonight (things tonight)

Nothing stops me any time (any time)

Bill of rights protects and makes me feel alright (hey, hey)

So I put my hands up

The police have come, they read me my rights

I’m noddin my head like yeah

My rights are guaranteed

Got my hands up, I’m plannen my case

I know I’m gonna be okay

Innocent (Na na, Na na), until proven guilty

Innocent, until proven guilty

So I put my hands up

The police have come, they read me my rights

I’m noddin my head like yeah

My rights are guaranteed

Got my hands up, I’m plannen my case

I know I’m gonna be okay

Innocent, until proven guilty

Innocent, until proven guilty
